We have invited Bodo Lang, the Head of Marketing at The University of Auckland and Maria Hahn, Air New Zealand’s social media expert, to talk us through all things social media and marketing.

About our speakers:

- Dr Bodo Ulf Lang from The University of Auckland will cover the academic side of Social Media Marketing. Bodo’s career is a blend of the commercial and academic sectors.
His commercial career began in Germany in advertising, he then worked as a management consultant in New Zealand for Deloitte Consulting, a global consulting firm. He has also held a management position in Singapore at NFO WorldGroup.
The other half of Bodo’s career has been spent in academia. Bodo has worked as a Lecturer in the marketing department at the University of Auckland Business School; as an Academic Director and Senior Lecturer at the Manukau Institute of Technology. He is the Head of the Department of Marketing at The University of Auckland.

- Maria Hahn, Social Media Manager International at Air New Zealand. Maria Hahn is responsible for Air New Zealand’s social media team based in Auckland, who run the Global Brand social media activity and content.
Air New Zealand has a history of producing world class social media that engages people around the globe. Maria has an M.A. in communication science from the University of Munich and has worked in the corporate social media industry for more than seven years. With years of experience in both Germany and New Zealand, including working with some of New Zealand’s largest and most influential brands, Maria will offer us a unique insight into the curious and ever-changing landscape of social media and marketing.
