Our annual business publication Double the Vision gives an insight into the economic and political developments in both countries.
Auckland, August 2018 - The German-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (GNZCC) is pleased to announce the release of the 12th edition of our bilingual trade magazine "Double the Vision".
"On behalf of the GNZCC Executive Committee, it is my pleasure to extend to you a very warm welcome to this edition of Double the Vision Recent confirmation that the EU will begin negotiating a free trade agreement with New Zealand is welcome news. There will be substantial gains for business through the FTA and the German Chamber will be keeping members and associates informed as negotiations progress. Germany, the powerhouse of the EU with a reported €235 billion current account surplus in 2017 has been a strong supporter in the lead-up to these FTA negotiations. With over 130 German Subsidiaries in New Zealand, this Chamber has a prominent role to play in terms of advocacy for inclusion of specific clauses in areas that provide mutual benefits for both countries generally and our members specifically. Areas such as the streamlining of processes around overseas investment, protection of intellectual property, mutual recognition of professional and trade qualifications and in product standards, to name just a few. These are exciting times to be involved in business between our two countries and I am confident we can look forward to an even more positive outlook in the years ahead." Jim Bibby President of the German-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce.
