Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation-EUCERS Energy Policy Dialogue

Start of October we had the pleasure of hosting the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation-EUCERS Energy Policy Dialogue.

A high level delegation from Germany, including Dr Joachim Pfeiffer, Member of the German Parliament and Spokesperson for Economic and Energy Policy of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group, Dr Joachim Lang, Director General, Federation of the German Industry, Professor Friedbert Pflueger, Director, European Centre for Energy and Resources Security (EUCERS), King’s College London, as well as Dr Frank Umbach, Research Director, EUCERS, King’s College London, had the opportunity at a CEOs Roundtable held in cooperation with the German New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Auckland to discuss on renewable energy and energy efficiency with representatives of the business sector and policy makers.

The CEO Roundtable was followed by interesting meetings with the CEO of the NZ Green Building as well as ATEED. On Day 2 of the Dialogue our Research & Consulting Manager Christy Carter travelled with the delegation to energy relevant sites between Auckland and Rotorua, including Lake Karapiro Hydro Station and Ngatamariki Geothermal Station. The delegation spent the following day in Wellington, meeting with EECA, the Electricity Authority as well as BusinessNZ Energy Council before travelling to Australia for a further 2 days.
