LSG Sky Chefs is one of the world's largest suppliers of airline catering services.  Our Auckland facility employs approximately 600 people and delivers over 15,000 meals a day to airlines operating from Auckland Airport.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and self-driven people with a high degree of resilience to join our Auckland Operations team.

The Job:

Operations Team Leaders run the day-to-day activities of our various departments in Auckland.  They are responsible for meeting production schedules, managing, motivating and leading our people, identifying and responding to different circumstances that arise, improving operational processes, and assisting in projects/assignments as directed by their Manager.

  • You will be responsible for achieving production performance standards and targets (including production levels, labour usage, quality and health and safety standards) by effective, efficient and safe use of product, plant and labour.
  • You will organise, monitor and control the flow of production to ensure on-time completion and delivery, in accordance with production planning schedules and within budgeted labour limits.
    You will work in a wider team of supervisory and management staff to achieve the best overall outcome for the business.
  • You will assist develop procedures and controls to continually improve the department's operations and encourage your staff to be involved in continuous improvement.
  • You will consistently encourage safe working practices.

Key Skills & Experience:                                               

  • You will have experience in people management and must be able to demonstrate from previous roles that you have the ability to positively influence and motivate your staff.
  • You must have previous experience in a processing or production environment with a good understanding of outputs, waste, downtime and productivity levels.
  • You will be confident in using your business computer skills to produce documents including spreadsheets, access e-mail and access information from our production management system.
  • You will have excellent communication skills and be at ease talking to your team or presenting information to a management group.
  • You will handle normal day-to-day stress and pressure with ease.

Qualifications and Education:                                        

LSG Sky Chefs is committed to a program of self-improvement for staff in leadership positions.  We expect that applicants for these positions will have a formal qualification in leadership and management OR will have a demonstrated willingness to complete an appropriate professional qualification with assistance from LSG Sky Chefs.

Working Hours:

Our business is nearly 24/7 and shift and weekend work is expected in these roles.  As much as possible we aim to match your shift to your lifestyle. You can expect to be required for either AM or PM shifts, including weekend work.

Remuneration:

This is a salaried position offered under an Individual Employment Agreement.  The salary will be negotiated with applicants and will be market-referenced. 

LSG Sky Chefs provides all staff meals on-site and free parking is available for employees.
