A big thank you to our members who joined us for the German-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce Inc. (GNZCC) AGM last week. We are especially grateful to our member Miele for hosting this important event and for their generous hospitality.
It was an honour to welcome Benjamin Leipold, Managing Director of the AHK Network at DIHK. Thank you for joining us on this special occasion and for your continued dedication to strengthening the global AHKNetwork and supporting chambers around the world.
We also acknowledge an important leadership transition, as our CEO Monique Surges steps down from the GNZCC, James Bibby concludes his term as President of the Board, and Erich Bachmann completes his tenure on the Board as Immediate Past President. Their dedication, leadership, and contributions over many decades have significantly shaped the Chamber and strengthened the German–New Zealand business community.
It was only fitting that Monique, Jim, and Erich were recognised with lifelong membership of the GNZCC in honour of their outstanding service and enduring contribution.
Congratulations to Joerg Schmidt as he will be taking over the reins of the Chamber as CEO from 1 July 2026, and to our newly elected Board for 2026/27, led by President Christopher Griggs.
We are delighted to welcome several members stepping into Board roles for the first time, bringing fresh perspectives, energy, and expertise to our governance. At the same time, we are deeply grateful to those continuing their important service.
We look forward to another year of collaboration, connection, and supporting our members.
