For all German citizens residing abroad:
To participate in the 2025 German Federal Election, you must submit a written application to be added to the voter register of the municipality where you were last registered in Germany.
Register now: The application form is already available online on the Federal Returning Officer’s website: Application for 2025 Federal Election.

- For any potential snap elections, please regularly check the Federal Returning Officer’s website and the German Embassy Wellington website.
- The German Embassy in Wellington offers the use of the diplomatic courier service to ensure election materials are delivered to Germany on time. Specific deadlines will be announced soon.
