As part of the Germany-New Zealand Energy Dialogue initiative by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), adelphi and the German-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (GNZCC) are hosting a webinar on 27 March 2025, from 7:30 to 9:40 CET (19:30 to 21:40 NZDT), online.
As a key sector in New Zealand’s economy, the dairy industry plays a crucial role in the country’s energy transition. Similarly, in Germany, dairy processing is a major economic contributor and one of the largest in Europe. Both countries have introduced and implemented various initiatives in recent years to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability. However, significant shared challenges remain on the path to further decarbonizing the sector.
This webinar will give an overview of the dairy processing sectors, explore economic impact, emissions, sustainability initiatives, future challenges and present financial and technological solutions. Experts from industry, research and government agencies from both countries will share insights and answer questions.
Speakers include representatives from the New Zealand Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA), Fonterra, ENCORE Efficiency and MAN Energy Solutions.
